As cartoon royalty goes, you don’t get much more supreme than Marge Simpson. The mum of three is an indelible icon of modern pop culture, coasting through 25 series and 535 episodes of The Simpsons, her towering blue beehive, green strapless dress and red bead necklace remaining essentially unchanged. But illustrator AleXsandro Palombo has decided that she deserves something of a makeover, as inspired by some of the most famous images in fashion and film history. So here, for your delectation, we present the marvelous Marge as, variously, a flashing Stephanie Seymour as shot by Richard Avedon, Coco Chanel in pearls, sporting Thierry Mugler’s infamous bum flashing dress and sensually aping Kate Moss’s bunny pose that marked Playboy’s 60th anniversary. A true professional, the project proves that Marge really does look great in anything.
