Who? Jorge Queiroz.
What? An exhibition of new drawings and paintings created using a wide range of techniques – pencil, charcoal, oil stick, gouache, Japanese ink, and oil paint.
Why? Born in Lisbon and currently living and working in Berlin, Queiroz’s mixed media art takes you into a world of fantasy and imagination. With a juxtaposition of colours and markings they appear disjointed while at the same time beautiful and harmonious. Intriguing and beguiling, each stands strong alone, while also forming part of a fictional narrative with the other works on show. Open for interpretation – take from it what you wish.
Where? Jorge Queiroz runs until December 2 at Sikkema Jenkins and Co Gallery, New York.
