AnOther Magazine turns 15 this season, and we're celebrating with an issue devoted entirely to parties. Here, we reveal four out of five of our fabulous co-hosts
“Parties and magazines have always gone hand in hand, and never more so than in the history of AnOther Magazine,” Jefferson Hack writes in the editor’s letter which opens the issue. “There have been costume-ball parties, private house parties, parties in libraries, after-hours parties, contemporary art parties, rooftop parties, regal garden parties, private boat parties, parties at off-grid locations, modern dance parties and even movie premiere parties.”
It makes perfect sense, therefore, that the 15th anniversary issue of AnOther Magazine takes the form of a party – a raucous but intimate, exuberant but reflective celebration of the most provocative and captivating people, ideas and attitudes of the moment. And to lead the proceedings, our four unique cover stars act as dream party hosts – each of whom defines the AnOther woman. Meet our hosts here.
Actress Kristen Stewart's rebellious energy is given a romantic twist in photographs by Paolo Roversi, styled by AnOther Magazine’s Fashion Director Katie Shillingford. Accompanying the shoot is a Parisian tête-à-tête with actor and artist Benn Northover, in which the pair consider the strength of focus and subversive spirit which have landed Stewart supporting actress trophies from the New York Film Critic's Circle and the César awards.
It wouldn't be an AnOther Magazine party without Kate Moss, who, with this latest cover, takes the crown for the most appearances on AnOther Magazine over its 15-year tenure. In this most recent instalment, the icon is encircled by youthful nudes in a soon-to-be-legendary fête photographed by Alasdair McLellan, herself dressed in archive and custom-made couture, styled by Alister Mackie.
Woman of the moment Grimes embodies a zeitgeist in which music, fashion and youthful talent collide, captured by Craig McDean and styled by Alex White for one of our brilliant covers. The pop visionary also guest-edits the Document section, providing a pictorial tour of her favourite literature guided by her own illustrations.
Throughout the duration of her extraordinary career, Björk has continued to push the boundaries of imagery and form – and her story for this issue, photographed by the inimitable Nick Knight and styled by Katy England, featuring staggering facial applications by Peter Philips, is no exception. In the feature, she sits down with comedian Julia Davis, whose work she has long revered, for an insightful and entertaining conversation...
Further features include Karl Lagerfeld: Piece by Piece – a seminal 30-page profile with Karl Lagerfeld by newly appointed Editor-in-Chief Susannah Frankel; AnOther’s 32-page literature section, guest-edited and illustrated by Grimes; Inside Dover Street Market, a first look at the iconic boutique's new Haymarket store, plus a definitive party soundtrack by Frederic Sanchez, bespoke canapés by Corrado Calza and a recipe for the ideal morning-after cocktail by Luis Simoes of the Chiltern Firehouse.
The Spring/Summer 2016 Party issue of AnOther Magazine goes on sale internationally on February 18, 2016
