Iekeline Stange's stunning sculptural features inspire fashion's creative community. But the Dutch supermodel has also established herself as a captivating artist. Her Polaroid photographs demonstrate her charming, playful and intellectual sensibility. And Stange is also a muse to food-lovers, who appreciate her graceful combination of yummy treats and imagery, expressing the rich surreal fantasy life of childhood.
At the opening party for I love Ponies, her first solo show with Berlin’s Projekt Galerie, Stange delighted viewers with an array of yummy cupcakes. Her next collaborative show with her dear friend, artist and stylist, Victor De Bie will include high tea. Here she shares a recipe with us for her favourite savory treat.
Iekeliene Stange: I'm not quite sure what the quantities are so I just throw flour, milk, and eggs into a bowl and stir them up. (The thickness should be in between French crêpes and American pancakes.) Throw the contents into a frying pan, fry both sides, put cheese on top and fold it over letting the cheese melt slightly. The magical touch is Dutch syrup – stroop – which is a most wonderful combination with the melted cheese! I hope that will inspire people to some pancake baking.
