From new Bottega to denim Dior Saddle bags, a luxuriant shopping edit for September

Saint Laurent Rive Droite 008

In case you weren’t already aware, Saint Laurent has started doing ‘merch’, which means that in addition to clothes, accessories and beauty, you can now purchase an assortment of YSL-branded items such as lighters, condoms, pencils and more. The house has just dropped a new sportswear-related batch of ‘goodies’, featuring tennis rackets and balls created in collaboration with Wilson, a set of brass dumbells and a leopard-print yoga mat – meaning that you can now work out very much in style.

The Dior Saddle bag... in denim

At her Autumn/Winter 2019 Teddy Girl-inspired showMaria Grazia Chiuri debuted a new iteration of Dior’s most iconic bag: the Saddle. Apparently inspired by “the equestrian universe”, this model is crafted from denim embroidered with the Dior Oblique motif and can be personalised with your initials in a selection of Dior boutiques. Surely one of this season’s must-have accessories.

Prada Escape at the Selfridges Corner Shop

Yesterday, Prada opened a space at the Selfridges Corner Shop, featuring a collection inspired by “journey, outdoor and camping”. In addition to outerwear made in the house’s famous gabardine nylon, and lots of camo, there are backpacks, bum bags and boots. There’s also a new collaboration with heritage Japanese stationer Midori (think: pens, stickers and mini notebooks) and camo-wrapped chocolate bars created in partnership with Milan’s finest pastry shop, Marchesi 1824.

Bottega Veneta at MATCHESFASHION.COM

The fervour for Daniel Lee’s newly revamped Bottega Veneta shows little signs of abating – just try and find those strappy, square-toed stilettos (you won’t). Thankfully, MATCHESFASHION.COM is launching a partnership with the Italian house this month, with exclusive pieces across menswear and womenswear appearing online and in its 5 Carlos Place townhouse. Expect the signature Intrecciato Nappa clutch in new ‘plaster’ colourway; quilted pumps; and a chocolate-coloured satin coat and cashmere skirt. Our only advice? Move fast.

Barbour for Margaret Howell

Summer, alas, is drawing to a close. But, this does mean that we can start wearing coats and jackets again, such as this one by Barbour and Margaret Howell. Yes, for Autumn/Winter 2019, Margaret Howell collaborated with the British heritage brand on a men’s capsule collection, featuring three styles inspired by Barbour’s archive. “A Barbour coat has evolved from functional demands and I have always enjoyed solving functional aspects and details when designing clothes,” says Howell. “It’s always exciting to delve into an archive such as Barbour’s and be inspired to reinvent a classic.”

Comme des Garçons Homme Plus x Nike Air Jordan

The keen-eyed and streetwear-minded among you will have noticed Nike Air Jordans at the Autumn/Winter 2019 Comme des Garçons Homme Plus show in January, which was all about “finding beauty in the dark” according to Rei Kawakubo. Now, these trainers are available to buy – from Saturday, 14 September at Dover Street Market. Available in black and white, from UK size 5 (meaning they’re not just for men), these are Air Jordans with a decidedly Kawakubo twist. We want a pair.

The 24S x LVMH Prize collection

Today, the winner of the annual LVMH Prize will be revealed in Paris. In celebration of the prestigious award – which rewards the best in emerging international fashion talent – 24S (formerly 24 Sèvres), has assembled a 51-piece edit of the eight finalist’s work. The eclectic selection – encompassing Anrealage, Bethany Williams, Bode, Hed Mayner, Kenneth Ize, Phipps, Stefan Cooke and Thebe Magugu – promises the opportunity to purchase something from “the future of fashion”, and is available on 24s.com now.
