The unprecedented collaboration, announced this week, is the first time the brand has ever co-designed with a musician

Dior has teamed up with Travis Scott for its Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection. In an unprecedented twist, the Houston-born rapper has co-designed part of the brand’s upcoming season, working alongside its artistic director Kim Jones. The full collection is set to be revealed tomorrow (Friday, 25 June).

This is the first time Dior has ever officially worked with a musician on a collection. That said, Jones is no stranger to an unexpected creative partnership: in the three years since he joined the French fashion house, he has designed collections with Shawn Stüssy, Raymond Pettibon and Ambush jewellery founder Yoon Ahn. He has also collaborated with artists as diverse as Peter Doig, KAWS and Daniel Arsham. This latest announcement is – according to a Dior spokesperson – a continuation of Jones’ “inspiring dialogues with pioneering personalities.”

Scott is also a familiar figure in the fashion world. As well as being a Grammy-nominated musician, he has previously worked on capsule collections for Evisu and Nike, while his company Cactus Jack is working on a philanthropic fashion program with New York’s acclaimed Parsons School of Design.

The Dior Spring/Summer 2022 menwears collection, by Kim Jones and Travis Scott, will be unveiled on Friday, 25 June on dior.com.
