On Wednesday night Carolina Herrera was in London to celebrate "flower madness” and the arrival of Spring at a special cocktail event hosted by AnOther Website and designed by Simon Costin. The cocktail party, for specially invited guests and international media, was to celebrate the new floral fragrance CH L’Eau and a flower-themed accessories line, and was the first event to be staged at the opulent and newly renovated 29 Portland Place.
Guests including Pam Hogg, Ozwald Boateng, Imogen Newton, Sasha Volkova and Dan Macmillan were treated to a fantastical interior created by set design extraordinaire Simon Costin, with music from Spanish celebrity DJ Bimba Bose and special London guest Daisy Lowe. The flower theme continued across a menu which included beetroot marinated scotch salmon with hay mustard and dill flowers, goats curd terrine with lemon zest and fresh nasturtiums and floral cocktails of rose petal martinis and wild hibiscus mojitos, among others.
Below is the recipe for one of the fabulous cocktails created exclusively for guests of the event by the Cellar Society:
Rose Petal Martini
35ml Belvedere Vodka
15ml Rose Liqueur
2.5ml Lemon Juice
15ml Lychee Juice
2 Red Rose Petals
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice cubes. Shake vigorously, strain directly into pre-chilled martini glass and garnish with rose petals.
