Magnum Photos’ biannual Square Print Sale has become something to look forward to for photography fans the world over: for one week, the photographic agency presents a selection of museum-quality prints available to buy for just $100. For the next iteration of the sale – which begins today, until Sunday April 12, 2020 and is in collaboration with global photography network The Everyday Projects – photographers have selected images that speak to the theme of ‘Turning Points’, a notion that seems prescient in the wake of swift changes brought about for much of the world during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Here, as part of our AnOthermag.com’s #CultureIsNotCancelled campaign, we celebrate the Square Print Sale – which continues in light of gallery and exhibition closures the world over – as a way to carry on engaging with and supporting image-makers whose work has been otherwise interrupted and discovering the vast span of international talent that Magnum represents. (Magnum photographers will also donate 50 per cent of their proceeds from the Turning Points Square Print Sale to Médecins Sans Frontières’ Covid-19 emergency response.)
From a selection of 120 powerful images, the AnOther Magazine team picks their favourite photographs from the sale – baby animals, friends dancing and sublime nature scenes very much included.
