"One of my favourite office moments was the launch of AnOther's pets column, in particular, discovering Audrey Hepburn's pet fawn Pippin and receiving Tom Ford and Richard Buckley's personal dog photos. Pets can reveal a lot about a person's personality – I really enjoyed researching Frida Kahlo. Artist Yvonne Lacet's cityscape interpration of Serge Lutens' make-up range for our Object of Desire column was standout."

And after discovering the graffiti artwork on Loves, "Don't Worry, Everything Is Going To Be Amazing" is my 2012 motto."

Our expeditions to Copenhagen and Tuscany, finding unexpected culinary treasures closer to home – it's impossible to choose a favourite. One moment that keeps coming back to me is from our first trip to North Road in Clerkenwell, when I had chef Christoffer Hruskova's caramelised clove parfait with sorrel leaves. This is still the most perfectly realised dessert I have ever had º and I am not always wild about afters. As we were there just shortly after starting The Hunger, it was at this moment that I knew we were on to something good.."

There is something strange, and slightly confusing, in connecting the most intellectual form of thinking with what seems to be the most futile. Fashion seems to be all about lying, and somehow making turning that lie into reality. In other words: covering your body and reinventing yourself. Mathematics, as George Steiner famously pointed out, are the closest we can get to achieving absolute dichotomy between truth and lie. Therefore, in the idea of "fashion equations" lies a fundamental paradox. And that paradox is fundamentally attractive."
