In light of the catastophic events at yesterday's Boston Marathon, America is in our hearts and on our minds. One thing which will be clear in the next few days is the courage of Americans and their unfaltering patriotism in the face of disaster. "Boston is a tough and resilient town. So are its people," said President Obama in a statement following the bombings. "I'm supremely confident that Bostonians will pull together, take care of each other, and move forward as one proud city. And as they do, the American people will be with them every single step of the way."
Today, we focus our attention on a key American landmark. New York's Grand Central Station, which celebrated it's 100th anniversary earlier this year. Not only the world's biggest train hub, it is often referred to as the "world's loveliest station", and there are few buildings that better embody New York's style and élan in architectural, engineering and political terms.
In these images, photographer Barbara Anastacio captures the hustle and bustle of the landmark – its staff and its commuters – alongside the architectural beauty of the space.
