Decadent and luxurious, Alexander Wang’s A/W11 T line on day three of New York fashion week featured and abundance of fur – wrapped around sunglasses, on sleeves, collars and entire tailored jackets. However, most interesting was the intricate technique he used on numerous pieces: exquisitely merging chunky hand knits into angora and then to satin, all in one garment. This combined with his high shine metallic loafers and puffer-like, open toed boots created a rather over the top look, reinforcing Wang’s original intention to “poke fun” at opulence and overindulgence.
