Call Me By Your Name, 2017(Film still)

Luca Guadagnino has said that both Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer will reprise their roles as Elio and Oliver in Find Me, the forthcoming sequel to Call Me By Your Name

News has broken today that offers something to look forward to post-isolation: Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer will reprise their roles as Elio and Oliver in Find Me, the much-anticipated sequel to Call Me By Your Name, director Luca Guadagnino has confirmed. André Aciman’s follow-up novel was released in October of last year, and finds Elio, Oliver and Sami, Elio’s father, ten years after the close of Call Me By Your Name

“Of course, it’s a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg (who plays Elio’s father, Samuel), Esther Garrel (Elio’s love interest, Marzia), and the other actors – they will all be in the new film,” Guadagnino told Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

The 2017 film was a breakout role for Chalamet – whose role in 4000 Miles at London’s Old Vic theatre was recently postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic – and was lauded for its bittersweet depiction of first love and desire over the course of a summer in Northern Italy. No production or release dates have been confirmed for the sequel as of yet – until more news, Call Me By Your Name is on Netflix, and Aciman’s novel Find Me is out now.
