Kicking off Frieze, Monday night’s party to celebrate Björk's new album, powered by Gucci, attracted the likes of Shygirl, Michele Lamy, Mariacarla Boscano, Tyler Mitchell and more

On Monday evening at London’s Victoria House, AnOther Magazine hosted a party with a crowd of star-studded guests celebrating Björk’s new album, Fossora. The event, made possible by Gucci, whose creative director Alessandro Michele thoughtfully designed the custom dress worn by the Icelandic singer on the cover of AnOther Magazine’s latest issue, welcomed Shygirl, Michele Lamy, Mariacarla Boscano, Michele Gaubert, Tyler Mitchell, and of course, Björk. The musician played an hour-long DJ set behind the decks, along with sets by friends and collaborators Sega Bodega, LSDXOXO and Side Project.

On arrival, guests entered through an atmospheric tunnel, which was decked in ambient red lights and trembled with the bass from the main space. Journeying through, black draping provided an intimate backdrop to the space where a carefully selected range of cocktails – Jalapeño Palomas, Negronis, Icelandic Mules and Ca’ del Bosco – were served, along with photographer Mert Alas’ stylish new gin, Seventy One, and a sushi menu curated by Brilliant Corners.

A smaller, more intimate space featured a projector screening Björk’s music video Ovule shot by Nick Knight, for which Björk dons the custom-made Gucci gown worn on AnOther Magazine’s cover – an incredibly detailed harness and dress constructed from delicate spirals of pleated organza in graduating tones of crimson and burgundy, lovingly embellished with crystalline edging and cascading sequin fringe, worn over body-suit in crimson latex.

Other guests included Dazed Media’s co-founder Jefferson Hack, actress Yasmin Finney and models Anna Cleveland and Mia Regan (who were all dressed by Gucci), along with Gareth Pugh, Amelia Gray Hamlin, Tim Walker, Dilara Findikoglu, Campbell Addy, and AnOther Magazine’s editor-in-chief Susannah Frankel, while Darkwah and Virgin X took over AnOther Magazine’s Instagram stories. As well as celebrating the release of Björk’s new album, the event honours the meeting of exceptional creative minds, namely Alessandro Michele, Nick Knight, and Björk – a unique and extraordinary moment where stars align to evidence the indomitable power of creativity, which AnOther Magazine was privileged to observe.
