Statement-making seating has been big on AnOther Loves this year, from the mid-century modern to the decidedly retro

When reflecting on 2017’s @anotherloves offering, it would be indefensible to ignore one particular peach-coloured chair shaped like a shell. The same can be said of a pair of golden velvet Versace armchairs. And, of course, the irresistible Eileen Gray-designed snug red leather seat. Seating in various guises has proven itself much admired this year, a notion endorsed by a number of collaborations and collections which saw fashion houses making furniture – examples include Louis Vuitton’s objets nomades range, debuted for Milan’s Salone del Mobile, and Paul Smith’s collaborative collection and exhibition with Finn Juhl, featuring chairs upholstered in Smith’s signature fabrics. Whether covered in sumptuous velvet, striped jersey or finished in iconic wire, these are chairs to treasure. Now’s the time to, literally and figuratively, take a pew.
