Silver, gold, sequined and shiny – clothing fit for 1970s-era dancefloors was a hit on AnOther Loves this year
TextBelle Hutton
With silhouettes, materials and prints reminiscent of the 1970s having enjoyed a return to the spotlight over the last couple of years, it’s no surprise that disco-ready clothes, shoes and accessories were much Loved on @anotherloves in 2017. This trend is defined by shiny metallics: glistening sequins adorn a high-neck Halpern top, Hillier Bartley trousers are rendered in gold leather and earrings are large in size and boast rainbow-hued crystals at Gucci. Today disco glam is not reserved solely for the fantastical pieces, either. Case in point: Helmut Lang’s irreverent pairing of luxe and mundane in its silver leather ‘trash’ and ‘freezer’ bags. All the better for dancing under a disco ball come New Year’s Eve.
