All calls for sartorial restraint were thrown out the window yesterday evening as Dover Street Market London hosted the 30th birthday party of British society tabloid, HELLO! magazine. Naturally, this made for quite the guestlist, as fashion’s great and the good found unlikely bedfellows in the likes of Joan Collins, Melanie B, Rod Stewart and much of the cast of This Morning. (To name a few.) Capturing the evening’s festivities was photographer Alexander Coggin, who turned his lens towards the finer details – namely, the décolletages of the glamorous guestlist, dressed for the occasion – to extraordinary effect.
Those wishing for a more lasting souvenir of the occasion, though, should note the eclectic array of products created to celebrate the collaboration from participating designers including Molly Goddard, Charles Jeffrey, Ashley Williams, Itchy Scratchy Patchy and Stephen Jones. Each was left to interpret the magazine’s memorable logo in their own way – from Williams’ bejewelled HELLO! hair clips to Goddard’s MOLLY!-branded paper napkins – with all proceeds going to Dover Street Market president Adrian Joffe and HELLO! editor-in-chief Rosie Nixon’s chosen charities: Sentebale and 7: the David Beckham UNICEF fund. An excuse to spend if ever there was one.
