“It’s Gucci season!” said Del Rey of the new short film, Forever Guilty
Yesterday evening, Gucci shared its latest campaign for fragrance Gucci Guilty, with two new stars: former Another Man cover star Lana Del Rey and grunge icon Courtney Love. The short film, shot by photographer and longtime Alessandro Michele collaborator Glen Luchford and titled Forever Guilty, also stars actor Jared Leto, who has previously appeared in a campaign for the fragrance. Played out among quintessentially American settings – including a laundromat, a supermarket, a beauty salon and a diner (where Love plays waitress) – the trio are joined by a series of furry and feathered friends: from a marauding ostrich to a tiger and an owl. (Gucci is no stranger to casting animals in its campaigns: see piglets in a campaign and collection brought out in time for the Chinese New Year.)
“Filmed in Los Angeles, they play individuals who live and love outside of social conformism to embody the fragrances Gucci Guilty Pour Homme and Gucci Guilty Pour Femme,” the house said in an Instagram caption, calling the campaign “a celebration of liberty”. Del Rey, who released new song hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it from her upcoming album Norman Fucking Rockwell last week, celebrated by sharing the campaign on her own Instagram captioned with: “It’s Gucci Season!” Watch the film below.
