Yesterday evening, Simone Rocha staged her A/W19 show against the backdrop of London’s Royal Academy of Arts. Styled by Dazed’s creative director Robbie Spencer, the collection – a beautiful amalgamation of the designer’s signature codes – was worn by a cast of stellar cast of models. The line-up included newer faces, such as Dazed cover star Licett Morillo, pre-Raphaelite beauty Tess McMillan, and face of the moment Adut Akech.
Veteran models Lily Cole and Lindsey Wixson also walked in the show, as did Kirsten Owen. But there was one name who surprised everyone: actress Chloë Sevigny, who took a star turn on the runway in a white dress and towering, lace-up velvet platform shoes. Rocha is known for the family-like atmosphere that surrounds her (tonight, quite literally, for her father John Rocha and mum Odette both embraced the designer during her bow) – an atmosphere that Sevigny must be overjoyed to now be a part of.
