The designer signed copies of the Autumn/Winter 2019 issue in his London store, alongside two recently released books
Last night, in London, Rick Owens signed copies of the Autumn/Winter 2019 issue of AnOther Magazine in the basement of his London store. Owens’ A/W19 collection features on the cover – others of the six covers feature screen angels Indya Moore and Naomi Scott – captured by photographer Craig McDean and styled by AnOther Magazine’s fashion director Katie Shillingford. An interview with Tim Blanks, in which Owens proclaims he wants to be “the Iggy Pop of fashion”, features inside.
Owens also signed copies of his new books, Legapsi by Rick Owens and Rick Owens Photographed by Danielle Levitt, both recently published by Rizzoli. “Danielle’s imagery has a clear-eyed honesty and tenderness that I want to align myself with and endorse,” Owens told AnOthermag.com of the latter. “The way she has captured what I do is exactly how I want it to be remembered.” The New York-based photographer joined Owens at the signing yesterday.
Other notable attendees included Owens’ creative collaborator and wife Michèle Lamy, musician A$AP Rocky and Salvia, as well as J Rick, Camilla Lowther, Alan Crocetti, Juliette Larthe, Paul Hameline, Stefan Kalmár, Pam Hogg and Richard Malone. Dazed Media co-founder Jefferson Hack was also present, along with AnOther Magazine’s editor-in-chief Susannah Frankel, and the AnOther Magazine team.
Guests enjoyed margaritas, champagne and beer from Sweet&Chilli and ginger beer courtesy of Fentimans.
