The Most Colourful Accessories of the S/S20 Season

The third in a series of seasonal edits themed on breeds of bird, Matthieu Lavanchy and Chloe Grace Press present Spring/Summer 2020’s most brightly hued accessories, inspired by the bowerbird’s complex courtship rituals

The bowerbird’s name is derived from an extraordinarily complex courtship ritual, in which the male builds a large structure, a sculptural display of grass and hundreds of carefully accumulated, brightly coloured objects. The vibrancy proves irresistibly enticing to potential mates. As part of an ongoing series of seasonal edits themed on the behaviours of various breeds of bird, taken from AnOther Magazine S/S20, photographer Matthieu Lavanchy and Dazed’s deputy fashion editor Chloe Grace Press capture the season’s most colourful accessories, in the spirit of the bowerbird – from Christopher Kane’s futuristic ‘bubble gel’ slingbacks to a Lady Dior bag encrusted with pearls, crystals and flowers.
