“One of the things I have always been in love with, and continuously fall in love with, over and over again, is taking meticulous care of my treasured wardrobe. I enjoy looking after my things, in an almost-religious manner. I am a loyal person – I never betray my passions. They are at the forefront of everything I do. Sometimes I discover new loves, for example at the moment I am devoted to my guitar.

“I had already begun enriching and refining my collections with different codes, through a single volume, a single colour, a smaller shoulder. I am a little bit in love with certain clean lines now. I have always worked in a way that is very personal to me, focusing exclusively, obsessively, on what I love. Working in this way, staying true to myself, means that I can produce more creatively and authentically.

“Having to spend more time at home recently gave me the opportunity to rediscover my wardrobe, my personal archive. I examined the garments and began to fall in love again with certain pieces – beautiful jackets, the pleated skirts, the red chiffon dress, and even some of the basketball T-shirts I used to collect.

“I wondered about the great power clothes have – even those we believe belong to everyday life” – Alessandro Michele
