Julianne Moore, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Indya Moore, and Chloë Sevigny feature in the elegant film
Saint Laurent has enlisted celebrated American auteur Jim Jarmusch to create its latest filmic project, entitled French Water. Set in the hours following a lavish dinner party, the surreal short film stars a mega-watt cast including Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chloë Sevigny, Julianne Moore, and Indya Moore (the latter two of whom have featured on the cover of AnOther Magazine), alongside rising TikToker Leo Reilly.
Over the course of the film’s nine moody minutes, the all-star cast glide elegantly through mirrored doors and around the party’s discarded tables, disappearing and reappearing in different looks from Anthony Vaccarello’s glamorous Spring/Summer 2021 collection, and taking sips of ‘French’ water offered them by Reilly, who plays the part of a perplexed waiter.
The short follows an equally star-strewn film created for the Parisian house in January by Love director Gaspar Noé, which paid homage to the Italian horror films of the 1970s – namely Dario Argento’s Suspiria – with sensual and chilling visuals which cast Charlotte Rampling as a high priestess of a coven of Saint Laurent ‘witches’.
