From Burberry’s internet-breaking Adam Driver film to Jil Sander’s Tuscany trip with Joel Meyerowitz, here we round up the best new campaigns released this summer

Dilara Findikoglu

To mark the launch of her fantastical swimwear collection, Dilara Findikoglu teamed up with Academy Award-winning director Yorgos Lanthimos for a series of surreal images shot on the English coast. “I was thinking about that feeling of swimming; of entering the water and becoming purified and all the bad energy being cleansed away,” the designer told AnOther in July.

Dior Men

Photographer Rafael Pavarotti is behind the elegant and painterly campaign images for Kim Jones’ Autumn/Winter 2021 menswear collection, which – unveiled in Paris this January – pays tribute to the enchanting works of British artist Peter Doig

Burberry Beauty

Footage of a topless Adam Driver running full pelt into the ocean abreast a galloping stallion, and then miraculously transforming into a centaur, promptly sent the internet into a frenzy upon its release last month. Directed by filmmaker Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast, 2000, and Under The Skin, 2013), and with accompanying stills by Mario Sorrenti, the sensual campaign marks the release of Burberry Beauty’s latest scent, Burberry Hero.

Wales Bonner

To mark the release of Wales Bonner’s Laraaji-inspired collection – which sees all profits donated to the Care India Foundation – the London-based label collaborated with Indian photographer Bharat Sikka. The resulting photo series, shot in Hampi, India, features warm, meditative shots of the collection on local models.

Miu Miu

Miu Miu enlisted fashion photography stalwart Steven Meisel to lens its Autumn/Winter 2021 campaign, which stars actress of the moment Emma Corrin (of Netflix’s The Crown). The collection, which was live-streamed from the snowy Dolomites earlier this year, “champions the notion of bravery and intrepid exploration”, says the label.

Prada

Prada doesn’t just look like Prada. It feels like Prada. At least, so says the Italian house, whose latest campaign explores the language of touch through a series of soft, sensory images shot by David Sims. In them, models stroke leather goods with their eyes closed, while playfully embracing each other.

Jil Sander

Colour photography pioneer Joel Meyerowitz is the man behind Jil Sander’s cinematic Autumn/Winter 2021 campaign, which the image-maker captured in his home of Tuscany, Italy, earlier this year. “It was a privilege to collaborate and share ideas with a legend of photography and a thinker like Joel,” say creative directors, Lucie and Luke Meier. “His sensitivity, sense of humour, and instinct for composition turn reality into art.”

Margaret Howell

AnOther contributor Jack Davison has Margaret Howell’s beautifully simple Autumn/Winter 2021 campaign. Captured in the Royal Gunpowder Mills in Essex, the series of pared-back, intimate portraits celebrate the brand’s covetably minimal new collection.

JW Anderson

JW Anderson has teamed up with French photographer Yann Faucher on a languid coastal photo story which imagines a summer getaway with friends. Faucher is best known for his dreamy, sensitive portraits of young men on the beach, which last year were collated in the image-maker’s debut photo book, Dancing Ledge

Les Girls Les Boys

Exploring the concept of ‘chosen family’, Les Girls Les Boys’ carefree new campaign sees London-based image-maker Tom Fletcher photograph his friends and family in the label’s latest collection.
