MACHINE-A x Byronesque
This week it was announced that fashion favourite Soho-based concept store MACHINE-A has partnered with Byronesque Vintage. The collaboration, aptly named MACHINE-B, will see archive pieces by the likes of Raf Simons, Rick Owens, and Maison Margiela sit alongside the store’s curation of new collections by emerging and established names, in an effort to blur the lines between contemporary and vintage fashion.
S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. INSECT INDEX
Artist Sterling Ruby’s clothing label S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. has just released a capsule collection inspired by the gruesome practice of “operatic death” among insects, where a mate will eat its partner. The collection itself features a selection of relaxed pieces in Ruby’s colourful, functional style, including jacquard jumpers, denim items, and accessories.
MM6 x Eastpak
Practicality meets deconstructed design in MM6 Maison Margiela’s new collaboration with backpack brand Eastpak. Featuring five styles in three bold colourways, the collection comprises backpacks, bumbags, and angular shoulder bags that are all reversible.
APOC Store
An array of brilliantly unusual new releases land this month at curated fashion and art marketplace, APOC Store, which exclusively stocks designs by emerging talent. Highlights include patchworked knitwear pieces by Christina Seewald, 2000s-style felt “Special Bags” by Anton Belinskiy, and whimsical silver pieces by jewellery designer Freya Douglas.
Ahluwalia Liberty Pop Up
Don’t miss Ahluwalia’s first ever pop-up store, which has just opened at Liberty in London. Featuring a sunset-hued set designed by Y-Lan Lucas, the space will be open for three weeks in the men’s section on the lower ground floor, and will stock designer Priya Ahluwalia’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection.
Acne Studios Vernon Scarf
Acne Studios has launched a new personalised scarf collection which allows wearers to emblazon their initials on each unique piece, alongside symbols of “love, positivity and inclusivity”, like the heart or the yin-yang. The accompanying campaign was lensed by Ronan Mcenzie, and features a cast of London creatives which include Femi Adeyemi, Rhea Dillon, Bibi Abdulkadir, Jesuslina Baah-Williams, and Vinca Petersen.
The Vampire’s Wife x Cire Trudon
Marking Bonfire night here in the UK, The Vampire’s Wife has collaborated with heritage French candlemaker Cire Trudon on a warming and wintery new candle, Bonfire. The fragrance’s top notes are smoky leather and cedar, with middle notes of tobacco and resin, and base notes of exotic herbs. To celebrate the launch, The Vampire's Wife have launched a film soundtracked with the song The Hand Of God by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
