Paying tribute to the innate loyalty of dogs, the new collection of jewellery from Homer features a series of dog and bone motifs
There’s a lot to be thankful for this Christmas if you’re a Frank Ocean fan. The musician has just dropped two new collections for his Homer and Blonded brands, as well as also launching an online store.
Homer – Ocean’s ethically-minded luxury fine jewellery company inspired by his childhood obsessions – officially launched back in August. Using handcrafted 18-carat gold, recycled sterling silver and state of the art lab-grown diamonds, the brand’s first collection comprised of bold colourful statement pieces, including pendants, earrings, chains and tongue rings.
The latest collection is titled When a Dog Comes to Stay and, as the name would suggest, features a series of dog and bone motifs across its range of pendants, bracelets, and rings. “When a Dog Comes to Stay explores the dog as a symbol of one that walks lighter,” Ocean says of the canine inspiration behind the collection. “A sheepdog, an Akita and a bull terrier are rendered in pixels as if to simplify the qualities that make them our family. To the dog, it seems, loyalty is without thinking.”
For the first time, Homer pieces will be available worldwide thanks to the new online store which has just launched. Previously, the collection had only been available at the Homer store in New York City. To celebrate the launch, a series of short videos showcasing each piece in the collection has been created. Titled I Remember, the clips feature models thinking back to various highs and lows from their past including rock and roll, backwards cigarettes to be cool, and “being straight”.
Alongside the Homer launch, new Blonded merch has dropped. The collection features four t-shirts, three photo t-shirts in vintage jersey and one logo T-shirt in compact jersey, and a poster, with a campaign shot by Ian Kenneth Bird.
When a Dog Comes to Stay is coming soon and will be available from the brand’s website and NYC store located at 70-74 Bowery. The Blonded merch is available online from the brand’s website.
