This Serum Was Made by Space Scientists to Keep You Forever Young

The Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y²

From the niche new beauty brands doing something different to the industry’s evergreen icons, Tish Weinstock opens up AnOther’s dream vanity. On this week’s agenda: an age-defying serum

  1. Who should use it? A miracle-working multi-tasker, the Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y² reduces redness, soothes irritation, and visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. So basically, everyone
  2. How long until I love it? Just the feel of it on your skin is an amazing experience in itself, but expect to see results after a few weeks
  3. How planet-/people-friendly is it? Very! 111Skin uses ethically sourced ingredients and recyclable packaging, meanwhile 10 per cent of all proceeds from every serum sold is donated to Women for Women International, so it’s a great way to support women who live in some of the world’s most dangerous places
  4. How do I use it? A seamless add-on to your skincare routine, apply one pump in the morning and one in the evening to freshly cleansed skin and follow with your moisturiser

You know that glowing purple serum in Death Becomes Her? The one that Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn’s characters drink in order to remain forever young? This is that serum. Conceived by world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides, the Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y² was born out of an experiment to create a formula that could protect astronauts from skin damage in the harsh, hyper-ageing conditions of outer space. Working alongside space scientists, Alexandrides soon realised the potential of that formula to help protect people back here on earth. Initially designed to speed up the healing process for Alexandrides’s post-operative patient at his 111 Harley Street clinic, it went on to form the basis of the much-lauded 111Skin skincare range.

Powered by this ultra-unique NAC Y² formula, the Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y² works to repair stressed skin, calm redness and soothe irritation, meanwhile visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, providing the skin with perfect conditions for enhanced elastin, and hyaluronic acid production.

The key to serum is NAC, a compound of amino acids responsible for the production of Glutathione, a super intracellular antioxidant that helps neutralise the pathways involved in stress, illness and inflammatory conditions, which can wreak havoc on our skin. The addition of Escin works to boost circulation and oxygen capacity, meanwhile, vitamin C is vital for the production of collagen. Rich in texture, a little bit of this goes a long way, so apply sparingly, sit back, and wait for total rejuvenation.
