Is there anything Karl Lagerfeld can’t do? From designing one of the world’s most iconic fashion labels (Chanel) and photographing it, to releasing a fragrance (Karleidoscope), illustrating a wine label (Château Rauzan-Ségla), designing make-up compacts (Sephora) and creating wrist watches (Fossil) – and that’s just this year – it is no wonder Lagerfeld describes himself as “Karl Labelfeld”.  With his signature ponytail, dark glasses, gloves and suited silhouette, Lagerfeld has become as recognisable as Chanel’s double C logo and has, to date, been immortalised in mini figurines, teddy bears, on Coca Cola bottles, iPods and snow globes, among many others.

"It is no wonder Lagerfeld describes himself as 'Karl Labelfeld'."

Recently however, Karl Lagerfeld domination has reached a new peak: in November it was announced that he would become global guest editor-in-chief of Metro International newspapers, just as the curtains were pulled back on his holiday window for Printemps featuring among them a snowy Paris scene with miniature moving Karl dolls dancing across the Eiffel tower. In early December Lagerfeld showcased the mesmerising Chanel Metiers d’Art 2012 Bombay-Paris presentation, before unveiling the first picture from his soon-to-be-launched new and affordable womenswear line (called “Karl”, what else?) a couple of days later complete with accompanying Net-A-Porter micro-site and Karl apps and games. And then yesterday it was confirmed that Alice Dellal would be the face of his Boy Chanel handbag collection via a dodgy sneak-peek backstage image that somehow managed to send fashionistas’ hearts racing and tongues wagging. Can this man do no wrong?

Here at AnOther we can only ponder as to what the multi-faceted designer has up his crisp, white tailored shirt sleeve. With only five days to go we place our predictions: Karl takes over Kristmas.
