Suede at Royal Albert Hall, Teenage Cancer Trust, London - Wednesday 24th March

Brit pop favourites Suede are reforming for one night only at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday with support from rising stars These New Puritans. Part of a series of concerts to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, this is an unmissable event for those feeling a little misty eyed for the nineties, or for Brett Anderson’s cheekbones…

Oxford Literary Festival, Oxford - Until March 28th

The annual feast for bookworms returns to Christ Church, Oxford this week. The festival brings some of the world’s greatest authors together over the next seven days to celebrate and discuss their works.

Crime & Punishment, Musee d’Orsay, Paris –June 27th

Crime & Punishment at the magnificent Musee d’Orsay links some of the greatest artists working from 1791 to 1981 by their subjects of violence and criminality. Taking in Goya, Picasso and Magritte the exhibition carries a tag line advising its unsuitability for younger audiences. A fascinating and macabre treat.

Whitney Biennial, New York – Until May 30th

The Whitney Biennial is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. To fete this moment alongside rising stars the collection of artists who have previously appeared in the Biennial (Andy Warhol, Kenneth Anger, Mark Rothko and Edward Hopper) will also be showing. As ever the Whitney’s line up is all encompassing, seeking to give a cross section of contemporary art rather than to thematically organise. A chance to view the Whitney’s past, present and future in a celebration of this year and all that went before.
