A specially commissioned series of images of Balenciaga Paris, our perfume choice of the season.
This season, our favourite perfume has been Balenciaga Paris – the first perfume from the house of Balenciaga in over 10 years – by perfumer Olivier Polge, who has also created scents for Jil Sander, Burberry and Viktor & Rolf. Containing delicate notes of violet, cedar, vetiver and patchouli, it is gentle but enduring. We asked photographer Atlanta Rascher to translate the character of the scent into a special series of images. “It started with the bottle: the shape of a woman, the cap, which I tried to echo with the marbles,” says Rascher, “but the smell influenced my choice of colours, the movement of the marbles – as if it were the scent escaping the bottle and unfolding.”
Atlanta Rascher is the UK Editor for Kid’swear magazine and photographer whose clients include Art Review, Arena Homme Plus, Japanese Vogue, Gucci and Burberry. Her exhibition 3 Golden Apples is on show until the end of the month at the Loft Project
