This week's global highlights from the cultural calendar - we choose Gucci in London, Toby Smith on Madagascar, and Hot Chip in New York.

Gucci Icon-Temporary Launch, London – Wednesday April 21

Following the success of the Gucci Icon-Temporary pop-up store in New York and Miami, Gucci bring their Icon tour to London. Featuring a limited range of sneakers including two exclusive pairs designed by Mark Ronson, this Wednesday sees the launch of the store and an after party hosted by Frida Giannini and Jefferson Hack at Ronnie Scott’s in Soho. With performances from Friendly Fires, Patrick Wolf and Mark Ronson this Wednesday will ensure that the Icon lands with a bang in London.

Toby Smith, Madagascar Bois de Rose, Barbican Mezzanine, London – Until Monday April 26

As part of the London International Documentary Festival images from Toby Smith’s investigation into the illegal rosewood trade in Madagascar will be shown at the Barbican. The images are beautiful and unsettling and were until recently under embargo as evidence in an international trial.

Hot Chip with Gang Gang Dance, Terminal 5, New York – Friday April 23

London’s lovely electropop group Hot Chip play to launch their new album, One Life Stand, with support from ethereal musical creatives Gang Gang Dance at New York’s Terminal 5.

Henri Cartier Bresson at MOMA, New York – Until Monday June 28

The work of the father of ‘the decisive moment’ is on show at MOMA, New York until the end of June. Accompanied by a series of lectures and gallery talks, the exhibition charts Bresson’s entire career taking in some 300 of his photographs.

Sturtevart, The Razzle Dazzle of Thinking at the Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris – Until Sunday April 25

The Musée d’Art Moderne holds an exhibition of the work of American artist Elaine Sturtevart, and this is your last chance to see it. There are examples of her work from the past forty years and she has created an interactive installation especially called House of Horrors in which viewers travel through a dark tunnel in small vehicles…
