Following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Björk and Rachel Weisz, M/M (Paris) will be posting their favourite things on AnOther Loves for the next week...
It's no secret that we love pets at AnOther – we even launched a special column in their honour, celebrating them and their high-profile owners, past and present. So, imagine our delight when acclaimed graphic design duo M/M (Paris) revealed that they would be kicking off their residency as Guest Lovers on AnOther Loves by posting Quatre the cat, wearing a striking bandana designed by the artists themselves.
Quatre the cat, a beautiful British Shorthair, belongs to one half of the duo, Mathias Augustyniak and his girlfriend Laure. Quatre is an indoor cat purchased from a pet shop in Paris and is described by Mathias as "sharp, intelligent and ironic". The British Shorthair is the descendant of cats brought to Britain by the Romans that interbred with wild native cats; they were later crossbred with Persian cats to improve the thickness of their coat. The British Shorthair is a very muscular breed, with a "square" body shape and thick legs. Because of its bulk and muscle, it is nicknamed the bulldog of the cat world.
