Painted hands, gold lips, dipped brogues, thick sideburns, printed suits were on display at yesterday's A/W13 MAN show, kicking off the first day of London menswear fashion week, captured in these exclusive backstage images by Alina Negoita.
For his first season under the MAN umbrella, Central Saint Martins graduate Craig Green captured the attention of his audience with an impressive collection restricted to a cream, navy and black palette. Inspired by the concept of shadows and reflections, Green's striking plywood headpieces were accompanied by clever layers of sleek, relaxed tailoring. Each outfit had a replica of it behind in black.

Astrid Anderson and Agi & Sam, both in their final season under MAN, took their inspirations from Danish bodybuilders and the eccentric Marquess of Bath, respectively. Anderson's exercise in modern silhouettes saw her using luxe fabrics such as Japanese cotton, silk jersey, velvet and Danish mink in a winning palette of black, gold, lilac and turquoise. Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton, the duo behind Agi & Sam focused on tailoring, incorporating printed shirts, ankle-skimming trousers and printed gilets.
