“I wanted to create this crazy crowd of people moving towards this yurt in the distance,” explains illustrator Alexander Wells, who created a Bugaboo cartoon strip for our latest Object of Desire.
Wells’ illustration incorporates a variety of the characters that make up the AnOther office, from our dachshund Wren, love of bicycles and nature to the range of nationalities that make up the team, including Austrian, Polish and Ukrainian. It highlights key moments over the past year, such as our editor Nancy Water’s wedding in a yurt and the recent birth of her first baby, as well as Katie Shillingford’s daughter who was born earlier this year. Shillingford took her Bugaboo pram to Paris Fashion Week with her, and is one of a host of stylish mothers who endorse the brand.

Bugaboo recently collaborated with Andy Warhol for their new collection, inspired by the artist’s love for children’s inquisitive and creative minds, and in the past the brand has worked with Viktor & Rolf, Marc Jacobs and Missoni.
“As I began the composition I realised this was going to be bizarre…so I just went with it,” explains Wells, who used pencil and ink for his graphic illustration. “Inspiration comes from anything I’m listening to or reading. Graphic novels were a big part of my inspiration when I first started to Illustrate; books such as Adrian Tomine's 'Summer Blonde' had a huge impact on how I wanted to go about working on something.”
