AnOther Magazine A/W12 celebrated couture's new rhythm in this film starring Saskia de Brauw, styled by Katie Shillingford and shot by Ruth Hogben
A/W12 marked a fashion moment within both AnOther Magazine and the fashion world at large. Katie Shillingford took over as fashion director and wanted to celebrate a burst of vitality that was running through the strongly traditional world of Modern Couture. The result was an in-depth piece by Susannah Frankel, who spoke to the inner circle of couture designers, including Raf Simons, Karl Lagerfeld, Donatella Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier, shown alongside a fashion story featuring key pieces from the collections, styled by Shillingford and shot by Ruth Hogben. And for something a bit special, stylist and filmmaker created this stunning film starring Saskia de Brauw, bedecked in couture, dancing to a thrilling yet languorous jazz soundtrack.
"We wanted to create something that made people smile" says Shillingford. "We were thinking about couture in a new and modern light. I was especially excited by the fact Raf Simons was presenting his debut couture collection and felt that this breath of fresh air would bring a new spark to the traditional world of couture."
Starring (in order of appearance)...
Atelier Versace, Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci, Valentino Haute Couture, Iris Van Herpen, Maison Martin Margiela Artisinal, Gaultier Paris, Giorgio Armani Privé, Dior Haute Couture and Chanel Haute Couture
