AnOther’s latest Object of Desire takes you on a galactic trip through a crystal-studded faraway universe, as glittering constellations twirl and disperse in a hypnotic kaleidoscope, eventually forming the S/S14 Cosmic shoe by 3.1 Phillip Lim. “I was inspired by the name, Cosmic,” explains filmmaker Alexey Romanowsky. “I used different shapes and forms representing a cosmic environment: a space made up of sparkling bright jewels.”

This season, 3.1 Phillip Lim sought inspiration from the elements, looking to nature’s otherworldly rock formations and precious stones, and the idea of nomadic survival. The amethyst-studded cutaway shoe derived from the idea of using found or existing objects, conjuring imagery of shipwrecked romantics, raw and dusty landscapes and swirling geodes. “I think the shoes reflect the two most important things," the filmmaker said, "modernity and comfort.”
