Over the weekend, hundreds of proudly hirsute men gathered in Portland, Oregon for the annual World Beard and Moustache Championships. From the finest French forks to the most exquisite ducktail, facial hair was celebrated in all its sculpted forms: from curling Dalí moustaches and Einstein bristles, to woolly Darins and Napoleonic twirls.
For many, growing a beard is a symbol of masculinity and character, but a full facial frame divides opinion, and has fallen under the fashion firing line of late. However this year's championships reaffirmed a sense of enjoyment and decadence amongst the age-old Beard Club. Here, we take a look at some of its finest members.
