On Louise Wilson... "She used to stress how odd it was that so much thought and consideration goes into the clothes for them to just get chucked down a runway – as they sometimes are – without much consideration for how the work is seen or perceived. To me, that is the one time you get to interact with a wider audience rather than just fiddling around with things in the studio."

On going with his gut... "Selling clothes doesn't really keep me up at night. Instead, I think it's very important to go with your gut or heart and I think that's sometimes frowned upon by some people because ultimately it's a business and you can't run a business on confusion and emotion."

On showmanship... "I'm not saying that I'm Lady Gaga or trying to inspire a generation, but, going back to my first show with Lulu [Kennedy], my intention was to do something that not only me but the audience watching found exciting. That's something that I've always strived to do."
