"Inspired by Sir Hardy Amies’ love of the country and in homage to his beloved English country garden, the S/S 2011 collection breaks the old adage of the ‘Sunday Best’, turning time-old formalities on their head, playing with the idea of rich but pure cloth, kid mohair and traditional Corgi knitwear – to be worn for everyday pleasures."
Hardy Amies sticks to their quintessentially British ambience this season, though this time adding a more mischievous undertone to their dapper fare. Taking inspiration from the men of 1950s films like Roman Holiday, Genevieve and A Place In The Sun the Amies man is traditional, relaxed and focused. He’s educated but fun and the eternal gentleman, like Amies himself.
