Day two of Paris fashion week brought attitude in varying forms at Zac Posen, Balmain and Rick Owens. Posen’s models appeared like glamorous vamps in his boudoir-styled collection of lace, satin and feathers that came in deep reds and blacks. Pierre Balmain channelled the label’s renowned rock ‘n’ roll look: with studded biker jackets, safety pinned distressed tees, bleached jeans and laddered fishnets, models appeared rebellious and anarchic. Although minimal, Owens’ S/S11 collection was powerful and dynamic. Voluminous floor length skirts and dresses were teamed with rigid, structural tops and high collars that looked like they’d come straight out of a sci-fi film. With the addition of alien-like bone hairpieces and dramatic eye-winged make-up, a rather enchanting and otherworldly feel prevailed.
