Caught somewhere between a Sonia Delauney swirl and an Ellsworth Kelly grid, AnOther’s series of GIFs by Quentin Jones and AnOther's fashion editor Agata Belcen offer a psychedelic trip into the Resort 2014 collections. Layers of Céline, Lanvin and Dior clothing are playfully integrated with Jones' illustrations. They pursue Delauney's concept of geometric abstraction where there is no gap between painting in art and fabric or furniture in decorative art. Model Maja Soloman stands poised among block-colour geometric figures and spinning popsicle sticks. At one point her pale skin is decorated with the colourful zig-zags of Ettore Sottsass' 1981 Carlton cabinet furniture piece. Next, her body is split down the middle in two, flashing between individual halves of jackets in a buzzing arcade game of match-up. Jones has grounded her work in a surrealist sensibility and in this series of fun GIFs she continues to experiment with tricks of visual perception.
