At Balmain, Olivier Rousteing presented a silhouette that felt distinctly Grace Jones; the structured shoulders and cinched waists of his shimmering party dresses giving them a sharp appeal. A continuation on the eighties themes that we've seen developing for A/W15, we saw an abundance of Vanity Of The Bonfires glamour in high-octane jewel-tones (as both Prada and Gucci have shown us, the season is as interested in unusual colour combinations as it is with nostalgia). It was a collection that showed Rousteing doing what he does best: power dressing some of the world's most recognisable faces.
