At the end of January, Milan and Paris looked on as the A/W10 menswear collections were unveiled. The shows explored military (Burberry and Lanvin), classic tailoring (Raf Simons and Costume National), American icons (Adam Kimmel and Miharayasuhiro), and the Fifties to Sixties (Masion Martin Margiela and Kenzo). In this column, we talk to the designers behind our favourite collections and ask them to share the references that informed their work.
Alber Elbaz’s and Lucas Ossendrijver’s collection was inspired by army coats and utilitarian bodysuits; and the styling by David Bowie with swept back hair as the Thin White Duke.
