Artist, model and photographer Cindy Sherman inspires Peter Som’s new autumn/winter 2011 collection. Sherman's work sees her represent stereotypes of women including housewives and prostitutes, using wigs, hats and clothing to hide any traces of her personality. The series Untitled Film Stills was completed in 1980 when Sherman "ran out of clichés". The staged and un-staged, real and unreal metamorphises on women in society and in the media is still relevant today, providing an interesting backdrop to Som’s latest collection..
