Peter Pilotto's autumn/winter 2011 inspiration: "Weighty chain-print checks belie the softness of silks when worn by an army of youthful revolutionaries. The dressiness of past season's is replaced by sharp-edged, interlocking wire and mesh motifs. A palette of anarchistic black and white, followed by Bolshevik reds, violent yellows and stormy blues subconsciously quotes a century of iconic movements from the Russian Revolution to the Paris riots to today’s current backdrop of political unrest and student revolution. The power of the voice of youth is celebrated in the use of classic Oxford shirting, with seditious shirting details layered amongst wool georgette tops, or creeping out from under tailored jackets and 3D printed Kazimir Malevich-esque polo-necks to form oversized shirt-dresses."
