Last night the supermodel and global brand joined forces with Dazed Media, hosting an intimate dinner in London to celebrate the adidas Originals Gazelle campaign
Of the countless images that define 1990s fashion, there are a select few that remain ingrained in our cultural consciousness. One such photograph pictures supermodel Kate Moss sitting cross-legged on an ochre couch, sporting a pair of crimson suede adidas Originals Gazelle trainers. Everything about that image – the casual ease of both Moss and her style sensibility – not only encapsulated the era in which it was created, but also still feels resolutely relevant today. Thus, enlisting cult artist Doug Abraham AKA @bessnyc4 to create the campaign artwork – a slice-and-dice remix of the aforementioned photograph – for the brand's re-issued Gazelle sneakers was an astute move. Last night, to celebrate, Kate Moss, adidas Originals and Dazed Media hosted an intimate dinner in West London.
Held within the seductively lit, copper-walled confines of Casa Cruz in Notting Hill, guests such as Liv Tyler, Dave Gardner, Noel Gallagher, Isamaya Ffrench, Goldie, Charlotte Tilbury and Bella Freud came together to savour an Argentinian-inspired menu of sharing plates including sautéed lemon sole, and scallops with chilli, lemon and parsley. An ambient soundtrack of Cave Club music set a spirited tone for the evening, as fashionable latecomers Edie Campbell and Jade Jagger joined Moss – dressed in a long gown and a box-fresh pair of Gazelles – on the building's ivy-strewn terrace for champagne. The delicately articulated deserts, chocolate gateau with dulce de leche, and lemon sorbet with calvados, sweetened the proceedings, which continued long into the night.
