Missoni brought a mix of references and looks to day four of Milan fashion week. Using a spectrum of powdery pastels across their signature patterned knits, Missoni’s A/W11 collection also featured voluminous Japanese inspired silhouettes, masculine tailoring, long dresses embroidered with naïve drawings, houndstooth, fur and full-length snakeskin coats and boots. The result? An overall charming aesthetic, which as Margherita Missoni described, appeared like “a fairy tale.” To balance out the ethereal vibe, models were given make-up inspired by Juliette Lewis and grungy slicked-back hair.
