There are certain bathroom products whose presence alongside a bath or sink indicate a particular devotion to luxury. Take, for example, soap – something whose very purpose is to be simply rinsed off one’s body rather than particularly cherished. Surely, to buy it anywhere other than the pound store is simply frivolous? At least, that is what I thought until I invested in this Aesop Body Cleanser, whose presence in my life is a beacon of joy. In the mornings, it is a reason to get out of bed; in the evenings, it keeps me from it – essentially, it turns washing oneself from a chore into something to be celebrated. That might sound hyperbolic but it’s true: it smells like the best thing in the world, makes my skin softer than can be reasonably believed and looks perfect next to my taps (in spite of its name, it can easily double as a handwash). For those in search of a complete regimen, we also recommend the accompanying scrub and balm for pre- and post-shower application. Worth every penny.
