The Anti-Racism Photography Fundraiser will donate proceeds to The Black Curriculum, Black Minds Matter and Exist Loudly

A new photography sale has launched today to raise money for three UK-based organisations which work for racial equality: The Black Curriculum, Black Minds Matter, and Exist Loudly. The Anti-Racism Photography Fundraiser features almost 150 contributing artists, and all prints are £100 – with a few exceptions for special editions, launching throughout the sale’s run.

Image-makers from around the world have contributed photographs from their archive for the fundraiser. Some of the photographers featured in the sale are: Daniel Obasi, Corinne Day, Amber Pinkerton, Alec Soth, Adama Jalloh, Arlene Gottfried, Brianna Capozzi, Hanna Moon, Julie Greve, Kyle Weeks, Martin Parr, Quil Lemons and Stephen Tayo. Works by Alasdair McLellan and Wolfgang Tillmans are listed as coming soon on the fundraiser’s website. London-based The Print Space will be producing the prints.

The three organisations which will receive funds from the sale all work to tackle racism in the UK. The Black Curriculum addresses the lack of Black British history taught in UK schools, and runs education programmes and teacher training while aiming to reform the country’s curriculum. Black Minds Matter is a mental health charity, working to connect Black families and individuals with services “by professional Black therapists, specifically for Black trauma”. And Exist Loudly is a fund set up earlier this year which formally supports young queer Black individuals in London and beyond, with community events and mentoring.

“Racism is a deeply rooted British issue,” reads a statement on the Anti-Racism Photography Fundraiser website. “As the Black Lives Matter movement continues to lead the fight for equality, the decision to operate under the banner of Anti-Racism is a call for the creative world, and the world at large, to fight racism everywhere it exists, while empowering the organisations and charities already doing this work.”

The Anti-Racism Photography Fundraiser runs until July 24, 2020.
