Eight Things to Buy in Lady Gaga Blue

“It’s not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis. It’s actually periwinkle!”

Parting ways from last year’s #MeToo all-black ensembles, the 76th Golden Globe Awards ceremony was a colourful fashion extravaganza. Whether or not Lady Gaga’s look was among your favourites (it was definitely one of ours), the A Star is Born singer and actress indisputably conquered the red carpet in a bespoke Valentino Haute Couture gown – referencing Judy Garland in the 1954 film of the same name – and a tinted updo to match. But rather than the gown itself, it was its colour – variously dubbed lavender, pale blue and lunar blue – that got people talking. “It’s not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis. It’s actually periwinkle!” its designer Pierpaolo Piccioli wrote in his Instagram stories. In honour of this week’s most talked-about tone, we’ve curated a list of things to buy in what we’re now calling Lady Gaga blue.

1. Among Calvin Klein 205W39NYC’s Resort 2019 offering, we have our eyes on these high-waisted wool gabardine trousers. With two side stripes channelling the collection’s varsity influences, the classic tuxedo-inspired style is a nice play on corporate attire.

2. With its distinctively playful approach to glamour, you can trust Miu Miu to make some of the best statement sunglasses around. These tinted cat-eye lenses and glittery frames will see you through the spring and all the way to summer.

3. Sies Marjan’s creative director Sander Lak is well known for using vibrant shades throughout his collections, as demonstrated by this powder-blue shearling coat. Ideal for layering, the coat is a perfect solution to brighten up your winter wardrobe.

4. Ever since their appearance on most A/W18 catwalks, micro bags have taken the world of accessories by storm. Jacquemus’ trend-setting Le Chiquita in blue leather is definitely one of the most covetable examples.

5. Hillier Bartley’s pale-blue ostrich feather earring epitomises the London brand’s experimental but feminine approach to fashion. Crafted in Italy and finished with a single faux pearl, the earring will add a whimsical touch to your look when teamed with the brand’s signature paperclip earpiece.

6. Co’s Resort 2019 collection perfectly represents the brand’s minimalist aesthetic. Cut from airy crepe de chine, this maxi dress should be your go-to for outdoor parties and formal occasions.

7. Leave it to Rejina Pyo to blur the boundaries between fashion and art with the ultimate sculptural shoe. Made of pale blue leather and set on a mirrored silver heel, the Conie slingback pumps are perfect for office days and going out nights alike.

8. As we approach the coldest part of winter, strong knitwear is a must. With that in mind, we’re lusting after this Valentino cashmere sweater from the brand’s Resort 2019 collection.
