For Stella McCartney’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign, the designer chose a cast of models and activists to feature in a series of photographs centred on climate change and the environment. Amber Valletta fronts the campaign, which was shot on the Welsh coast by AnOther contributor Johnny Dufort and also stars members of climate change activist group Extinction Rebellion. The campaign acts as a call to action from Stella McCartney, who has long championed environmentally friendly and sustainable fashion with her vegan designs.

Bottega Veneta (above)

Transporting us to Joshua Tree, California, Bottega Veneta’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign is a sun-soaked look at creative director Daniel Lee’s latest collection. British photographer Tyrone Lebon shoots model Adut Akech Bior against the backdrop of a vast concrete landscape, with a golden sports car joining her in the frame. “Strength, sensuality, being in the moment. Bottega Veneta is about defining a point of view, a new way of seeing subtle individuality, and then subverting that status,” says Lee.

Alexander McQueen

What do you get when you cross one of Britain’s top fashion houses, top fashion models and top fashion photographers? Answer: Alexander McQueen’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign starring Kate Moss, photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth – with art direction by M/M Paris. Gorgeous.

Jil Sander

For Jil Sander’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign, husband and wife team Luke and Lucie Meier chose to work with Nigel Shafran – a legend of contemporary British photography, best known for his brilliant documentary work. For these visuals, Shafran headed to Scotland, capturing the collection among the sea, fields, roads and buildings there.

Saint Laurent

Alongside regular Saint Laurent muse Freja Beha Erichsen, Saint Laurent’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign featured someone a little more unexpected: Allie the monkey, a white-faced capuchin, who is pictured on Erichsen’s shoulder and next to an olive green bag. The question is, will she be walking in the next show?

Versace

A “luxury-grunge” aesthetic sits at the heart of Versace’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign. The luxurious collection of faux-fur coats, jewel-tone gowns, and vivid leather handbags – worn by the likes of (an almost unrecognisable) Kaia Gerber and Anok Yai – is set against a cavernous warehouse with brick walls and concrete flooring. Donatella Versace’s model-muses feature in individual portraits shot by Steven Meisel.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign features a trio of actresses – French Léa Seydoux, Australian Samara Weaving, and Chinese Zhong Chu Xi – captured by artist, photographer and AnOther Magazine contributor Collier Schorr. For the collection itself, Nicolas Ghesquière took inspiration from the Centre Pompidou, the square in front of it and the “melting pot of different tribes” that come together there.

Burberry

Riccardo Tisci enlisted two photographers to shoot Burberry’s just-released Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign: Nick Knight and Danko Steiner. “At the core of what we are doing at Burberry is a passion for the house to become an identity and a lifestyle – one that transcends barriers and is inclusive to all,” says Tisci. “This campaign explores the many facets of British culture and how they coexist.” While Steiner photographed the A/W19 collection, entitled Tempest, by the seaside, Knight captured a group of models in a bustling studio for his photographs.

adidas x Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney has been collaborating with adidas for the past 14 years, which nearly (but not quite) as long as she’s been working on her own label. Launching earlier this summer, her latest collection for the brand was created using recycled polyester, along with ocean plastic recovered by Parley for the Oceans. For the accompanying campaign, the designer selected art pop singer and former AnOther cover star Grimes, who she describes as “passionate and outspoken [about] protecting the planet, and a true trailblazer.”

Coach

For Coach’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign, the brand selected a cast of “21st-century dreamers” including faces of Michael B. Jordan and Kiko Mizuhara, as well as a new Coach family that includes Yara Shahidi, Jemima Kirke, Lolo ZouaïMiles Heizer and new Coach ambassador Liu Wen. Captured in iconic locations around NYC, the campaign is shot by Juergen Teller who was able to create “the warm, unpretentious and playful spirit” that Stuart Vevers wanted.
